Insider Festival

After much cogitating, deliberating and debate, we are utterly delighted to announce the full running order for the coming weekend’s celebration of all things musical, sporting, culinary, visual and eh… mental.

It’s so very on. 

Now you can start gearing your training towards your chosen events; decide when you want to dine in style at the Gardener’s Cottage; make sure you don’t miss your favourite bands. And then, come the weekend, you can of course forget all the planning and go mad with the flow.

However you choose to party with us this year, do enjoy yourself people. We certainly will.

As we approach the finishing straight, it seems we may be heading for our first ever sell-out!

We have now sold out completely of Saturday day tickets and there are just a handful left of the Friday/Saturday and Saturday/Sunday two-day tickets.

If you’ve still to buy one, it’s time to pull your socks up!

Insider Festival

The Gardener’s Cottage pop-up restaurant will be offering 2 sittings per day of the most exquisite food and drink, to intimately small groups in the oasis-like setting of a 24-foot Mongolian yurt.

For those of you who prefer to start the day with a steam room and full Scottish breakfast,as opposed to steaming and being a Scottish midges’ breakfast – we have negotiated some very special Olympian’s rates with Macdonald Highland Resort (located in Aviemore, 4 miles from the festival site).

       Luxury 3 bedroom self-catering lodge (sleeps 6): £199pn

We need a strong, healthy and enthusiastic crew to support this years Olympiad.

The following teams are on the scout for new participants, so if you think you have what it takes to compete, then please contact work@insiderfestival.com for an application form and return it by the 1^st June 2012.

Team (de)Hydration

All you sports enthusiasts out there will know how important it is to keep hydrated during a race/match. That’s why Team (de)Hydration need a responsible yet friendly and lively bunch to run the Insider Bars, and look after the health of our Spectators & Athletes*.

Bar Staff: Must be over 18. Previous experience is not required, but preferred.

Team Nutrition

Our athletes and crew will be using up a lot of energy over the course of the weekend, so Team Nutrition will be providing them with healthy balanced meals to keep their energy levels up.

Crew Kitchen Staff: Must be competent in the kitchen, preferably with catering experience.

Team Sniper

You don’t actually get a sniper rifle, but with a sprawling Olympiad Village, it’s vital that our spectators and athletes know where to go when they arrive, throughout the weekend and that they feel safe and protected at all times. Team Sniper will be on hand to guide them in the right direction, so that nobody misses their favourite sport*.

Car Parking Steward: Previous experience is not required, but preferred. An assertive manner and logical mind will come in handy.

Steward: Previous experience is not required, but preferred. Must be willing to work night shifts as well as day shifts.

Team Bodybuilder

Our athletes shouldn’t be left to carry their equipment, and our bars will need replenished throughout the day. That’s why we need a bunch of burly chaps to help transport stock and equipment around the site. If you’re not burly, but have a quad and aren’t afraid to use it, we also want to hear from you.

Team Ballboy

Ok, so you won’t really be collecting balls. But we do need a team who are willing to get up early and collect empty glasses and litter, and generally make the Olympiad Village look like it was just built that day.

Team Umpire

Throughout the weekend, there will be a series of Olympiad Sports taking place. We need a Team to coordinate these events, and to make sure that the strict rules of play are not breached.

Team Aftermath

Members of this team will be allowed to let their hair down over the course of the weekend, as long as they are willing to stay onsite post-Olympiad and assist with the aftermath clear up.

Availability

It’s important to us that our Team members are clued up about the Insider and singing from the same sporting hymn sheet, so we would like our volunteers to be on site no later than lunchtime on Thursday 14^th June, for training, Olympiad Village acclimatisation and team bonding at the crew BBQ.

*Please note, the Insider Olympiad is in fact a music festival. All references to ‘athletes’ should be taken to mean ‘musicians’, and for ‘sport’ read ‘band’.

This year we have invited some culinery wizards to join our ‘Team Nutrition’

The Gardener’s Cottage  will be setting up their pop-up restaurant in style; within a beautiful 24 foot yurt. Lunch will be served at 3pm and Supper at 7pm, both being a four course feast of fresh, seasonal food and at a very reasonable £30 (includes matched wines) You can pre-book a place at any of the sittings here. We’ve had a peek at the menu and it looks to be the finest food in the land over the weekend..

Wild Rovers are looking forward to serving up wild, organic and locally sourced food from their 1961 Land Rover and Field Kitchen. They’ll be on hand to prepare you for a day of Olympiad activities with their Super Scrambled Arbroath Smokies and signature Venison Champion Chilli Wraps.

Also in the winners arena, we have Babu Bombay Street Kitchen bringing the fresh and hot flavours of Bombay.

Returning favourites, Woodburns wood-fired pizza and their brilliant coffee.

Soothing your soul and banishing your hangover we have AyeCoffee truck in the campsite for your hot bacon roll and steamy mug of espresso coffee.

For sweetness the Inshriach Cake Shop will be returning (from next door) with their dangerous cream cake selection matched with all the tea in china.
